PINTEREST TIPS

When it comes to getting people to read your blog, one of the best social media platforms to use is Pinterest

In fact, forget social media – Pinterest is just one of the best places to promote your blog and get blog traffic.

When I first started blogging, I really struggled to get any blog readers (despite publishing good quality content on a regular basis, nobody was reading them).

And that’s where Pinterest came to the rescue!

As soon as I started making optimized pin images and sharing them on Pinterest, I actually started to get people coming to read my blog (which was super exciting!).

And not just a few people here and there – I’m talking 13,000+ page views a month from Pinterest alone.

Plus, that’s to read my blog on blogging and social media, which isn’t exactly a popular topic… So imagine the traffic you could get from Pinterest if you’re a blogger in a ‘visual’ niche, like a food blogger, beauty blogger, fashion blogger, etc?

Whilst I do think SEO is one of the best ways to get long term high quality traffic, SEO can take anywhere between 12 to 18 months to start seeing any results.

But with Pinterest, you can start getting blog traffic pretty instantly (usually in less than a month).

And in comparison to other social media platforms, Pinterest really is the best; a pin can live for months and get traffic for a long time after you’ve pinned it (that’s in comparison to the life of a tweet being minutes).

I actually had a pin go viral, and get me blog traffic for years after I shared it!

So it’s safe to say I love Pinterest when it comes to getting blog traffic, and I write about it a lot on Easy Blog Emily (I actually love it so much that I became a full-time Pinterest manager, helping bloggers and business owners use Pinterest to get blog traffic!).

Below you’ll find my best tips and tricks when it comes to getting traffic to your blog from Pinterest that I’ve learnt from years of using Pinterest marketing for myself and others.

PLEASE NOTE: Pinterest updates pretty regularly, and some of these posts were written before certain updates. I will try my best to update these posts regularly, but if you see metrics that are named something different, screenshots of analytic dashboards looking different, etc, it might be because Pinterest has updated since!
